Senior Safaricom managers yesterday went to Lee Funeral home where the body of their CEO lay.
Collymore succumbed to cancer yesterday morning.
The team included Safaricom’s chief HR officer Paul Kasimu, Chief Enterprise Business officer Rita Okuthe, Chief Customer officer Sylviah Mulinge and Chief Business Development officer Debra Mallowah.
They were at the funeral home a few minutes past noon, shortly after the conclusion of the company’s press briefing at Michael Joseph Centre.
Men in black
The officials were in the mortuary for about 30 minutes.
They left after a brief discussion at the main entrance.
They did not want any photographs of them taken, and two men in black were on standby to ensure that journalists abided by their wish.
Sources said Collymore’s body was driven into the funeral home early yesterday morning shortly before the company announced his death in a statement that went viral, causing shock among Kenyans.
